I'm learning Thai with Ling. The app has a large number of lessons and a variety of subjects. The lessons are sequentially ordered in different skill levels. There are also lessons on grammar and culture. The interface is intuitive and responsive. What's missing is a better way to repeat vocabulary: There is a flash card function, but it only allows repeating vocabulary from one lesson in a fixed order. What's missing is an option to randomize the order and to repeat vocabulary all lessons.

using paid version. I have finished the beginner section of Latvian and my husband (native speaker) says the recordings actually sound like native speakers unlike an app I was using before. Once in a while they choose an odd word that apparently isn't common, but it's not bad. My big disappointment with the app is that the first two sections had grammar lessons (which sold me on pro), but none of the rest do. Kind of a bait and switch for a language so grammar-dependent.

It's the best way to learn a foreign languages. But there are just a few things that could be better. Sometimes the sound is not what is written and additionally you are finishing the units too fast. I need to do one unit about 3 times to remember all the vocabs because mostly I go through the unit by clicking the most likely answer. But it still helps to remember the sentence construction. You could make an additional part in units where you have to write the sentences letter by letter.

What’s new

Meet Terms to Practice: a short list of the words you've missed recently, right in your Review tab.

Finish a lesson, then clear your Terms to Practice one by one. Words you get right stay gone, words you miss come back until they stick, so the vocabulary that used to slip away finally becomes yours.

Whichever Asian or Eastern European language you're learning, this is a good week to turn your weak spots into wins - one word at a time.
